Can you cast dog models for commercial shoots?

We are not an animal talent agency. But if your commercial photography concept requires the recruitment of canine talent, chances are we can find the right dog to bring your vision to life.

As one of the premier dog portrait photographers in the Baltimore / Washington D.C. region, we maintain a fairly sizable network of cooperative dogs in a variety of breeds, colors, markings, ages and sizes.

More popular and common dogs breeds we’ve casted for commercial pet photoshoots:

  • Pugs
  • American Staffordshire Terriers (pit bulls)
  • Boston Terriers
  • Tea Cup Chihuahuas
  • Jack Russell Terriers
  • Boxers
  • Golden Retrievers
  • Chocolate Labrador Retrievers
  • English Bulldogs
  • Cocker Spaniels
  • Pembroke Welsh Corgi’s
  • German Shepherds
  • Dutch Shepherds
  • Scottish Terriers

Less common and designer dog breeds we’ve casted for commercial pet photoshoots:

  • American Fox Hounds
  • Boggles (Beagle Boxer Mixes)
  • Golden-doodles
  • Chesapeake Bay Retrievers
  • Miniature Schnauzers
  • Great Dane
  • Affenpinscher (Monkey Terrier)
  • Dogue de Bordeaux (French Mastiff)
  • American Rescue

We also have a number of high performing dogs in our casting network, that are either past clients or friends of the studio capable of a number of high functioning tasks, including:

  • Canine Agility Competitors
  • Service & Guide Dogs
  • Working Search & Rescue Dogs
  • Canine Weight Pull Competitors

For canine castings we charge a 15% casting fee (a minimum of $25 per dog) on top of any modeling fees. Casting lead times and modeling fees vary, depending on project specs and the specificity of breed required for the concept. But generally speaking, we typically expect to pay out $150 per dog model per one hour session.
